If you're getting an Ibanez , you should make sure it's a high end guitar , cuz most low end Ibanez guitars I've tried really su*k ... I also think you would need a Floyd Rose tremolo for metal soloing (in case you play leads) .
Anyway , Ibanez RG's are nice metal guitars.
