I'm not entirely happy with the clean sound (that's why I have a PAF Pro in the neck position). When you want to grind and howl, though, the Tone Zone is the only way to go! :D You don't need a lot of distortion because the pickup is so dynamic. You have to stay on top of it, because subtle changes in pick attack really pop out. Once you get used to it, you can be very expressive. It seems to immediately produce what you hear in your head. By comparison, it seems that you have to 'explain things' to any other pickup, and sometimes stuff gets lost in the translation.
