I'm stoked, this will be the first one I've ever been to. Anyone else been to a G3 concert? This year is Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, and Yngwie Malmsteen. I'm particularly interested in seeing Vai and Satch. Has anyone ever seen any of these three guys live? What did you think? How long ago was the show? How long do their sets last at an event like this?

Oh btw, I'll be at the Pittsburgh show on 11-8-03 if anyone else is going to that one.

I've never seen them live (except for the Satch live in Fransisco dvd if that counts) but I did meet Joe on the street when he played in vancouver. I'm going to the G3 in Van and I am soo stoked. I can't wait to hear what it'll sound like when they all jam at the end!

I am going to see the one at the House of Blues here in Orlando when it hits in November.
So. If you throw a cat out of a car window, is it considered "kitty litter"?

G3, Satriani, Vai, Malmsteen, 10-25-03, 8:00 p.m., Historic State Theater in Minneapolis, MN. I'm there!! Just bought my tickets two days ago. I can't wait, because back where I used to live in Louisiana, there were rarely any good concerts. The only one I can think of was Fleetwood Mac in July... Here in Minnepolis there's concerts all the time. I'm going to see Symphony X in December, and hopefully also Trans Siberian Orchestra. Wow, I'm going to be broke soon.

Oh, and as for set length - at G3, each artist generally performs 3 of their own songs solo, and then the 3 guitarists get together and jam on a few (3 I think) songs.

I saw one of the 1st tours w/Satch vai and Eric Johnson. Vai is flashy on stage but I thought musically Satch and Eric did a better job. They each played for about 40min.

BTW, I had backstage passes to that show and got to meet all 3. :)
