slash.... :D
Later in the evening
As you lie awake in bed
With the echoes from the amplifiers
Ringing in your head
You smoke the day's last cigarette
Rememb'rin' what she said

For life is quite absurd and death's the final word, You must always face the curtain with a bow
Forget about your sin - give the audience a grin
Enjoy it - it's your last chance anyhow.

Having heard and seen some of the best and fastest. My secretly admired guitarists would be:

Jimi Hendrix - Still the best ever, no doubt.

Dave Gilmour - very melodic at best.

Allan Holdsworth - the master of jazz legato

Al Dimeola - Acoustic gypsy legend

John MacLaughlin - this guy's phrasing would sometimes make me wanna quit guitar.

Alexi Laiho - his guitar work at Bodom is simply excellent especially the solos!

Yngwie Malmsteen - I think the man deserves some greater respect. Even though sometimes he sounds like repetitive, He still have the best and cleanest "shred" technique Ive ever seen. The fluid violin like vibrato even at high distortion is still untouchable, as well as his versatillity on acoustic . And If you think youve heard all of him better check out his guitar work on Derek Sherinians "Black Utopia."
Guitarplaying is 1 Percent Inspiration, 99 Percent Perspiration... :)

A tie between Andres Segovia and Billy Corgan (stylistically worlds apart, I know, but I admire them equally nonetheless :) )

If at first you don't succeed, you are obviously not Chuck Norris.

There are too many great guitarists. I could go on forever listing my favorites. But if i had to pick someone it would have to be SRV. Oh yeah and i think Jethro tull Rocks too! I wouldn't say Mark is an amazing Guitarist but he is able4 to make a song sound good.
