I just bought a Marshall AVT 50 combo amp and I'm just wondering if it's possible to connect a 4x12 Marshall cabinet onto it and put the combo amp on top of it?

Has anyone tried that? If it's not possible, guess I'll just save up for a stack.

The AVT should have a 'speaker out' line so you can hook it right up to a 4x12(or two).It would look funny as hell sitting on a 4x12 though...If you were playing on a small stage(or jam room)you could place the combo on one side of the stage/space and the 4x12 the other.Simple answer...yes

Later! \m/

If your impedances match, it will work perfectly fine.

I did that with the AVT100 combo and it rocked! The cable youl see on the back that goes from the speaker to the amp can be pulled out. You then get another cable and hok the cab up to the input where the loudspeaker was plugged. It means your no longer using the combos speaker but instead the cab.
The results... AMAZING!! the cab with the AVT100 I had sounded better than the cab with my current JCM2000 head! Go for it!

Cool, thanks guys!

I'll probably buy at least one 4x12 cab. Then, when I wanna upgrade my amp again, just get a half stack, add the other cab and then presto!!:eek: A full stack!! I hope so anyway.

Also, what type of cab you think is best Axl_Rose or anyone else? First of all, slanted or straight?

And finally, what are impedences?

First off id recommend ebay for gettin cabs n other guitar stuff! So long as you use a credit card your insured against internet fraud!
Id try any 300watt cab, JCM800, 900 or 2000s. Slanted first because it directs the sound upwards and outwards! I got a JCM900 slanted then a JCM800 straight. Be carefull tho, some are BASS cabs but for guitar. I bought a JCM800 one but it was really bassy!

Check out marshallamps.com for the specs
