You can't change from standard to drop D on a floating trem without having to tune other strings ... It's just your ears that are getting more sensitive ! The more you play , the more you'll get more your ears will develope perfect pitch.
Try to play a guitar that's not perfectly in tune infront of some of your non-musician friends ... I can asure you that nobody's gonna notice . ;)
