The sad part for me is that I just started liking cash.
I suppose we'll have to mourn.
If I leave here tomorrow,
Will you still remember me?

I'm very much in your boat; I've only been listening to him for a couple of years now.

As to mourning, well, this has been a rough couple of days to be part Irish...

Johnny Cash was a rarity, I remember watching his TV show as a kid, the man had so much presence that even if you didn't really care for country music he could still hook you in, I'd say that might have been his strongest ability, to be able to tell a story and make you listen, it knocks me out that even in his 70's he was still expanding his range of material and his audience as well, he was surely one of a kind..........

He did an awesome remix of "Hurt" by NIN. Although if you watch the video it is almost like a farewell to the world. It has both June and Johnny Cash in it. The first time I saw this video I told my wife that it seemed to me that Johnny was saying goodbye and unfortunately it seems I was right. R.I.P. Johnny Cash It is now your turn to rock in the heavens! You will be missed. (moment of silence)

I agree, that was my first reaction. I didnt like that song for the fact it was like he was giving up on life. Very sad from a person who also went against the grain to give up!

When listening to all of The Man Comes Around, it's almost like you can hear the oxygen bottles in the background. And it gives the music even more power.

I was shocked that June died before he did. But after she died I knew it wouldn't be long before Johnny followed.

Cash, definately. I think on that album though, The Man Comes Around and I Hung My Head outshine it by a long shot.
