On a gibson you have two tone and two volume knobs and there two types of wiring you can haev. Whn both pick ups selected you can have a wiring that means turningt the volume down on one pick up just lowers that one. Or a wiring where turning one down turns both down, kinda like a master volume. Anyone who the names of these alternative types?

When both pickups are selected, they are connected in parallel. There will be some interaction between the controls. As far as I know that's the only way the factory wires them.

Hey Axl, I concurr with my compadre, Gibson only wires them one way, the wrong way! Just pulling your chain, but if you are interested in rewiring to make the 2 pick-up on,mid position setting independent so that one volume can be turned off while the other pick-up is still on, so one doesn't effect the other, take the input and output wires on the tabs of the vol pot and switch them on each vol pot, now why didn't Gibson do that in the first place?...................
