David Gilmour played the bass in "Hey You" (fretless!). He said something like, "Roger on fretless? Yuck!".

He once said in an interview that he played most of the bass on certain albums (probably Dark Side and on). Roger Waters would win best bass player competitions in magazines and would thank David Gilmour.
