I've been lookin at the MG 30 Dfx. I'm really considering gettin one. For the price I think it looks a pretty good deal. What you guys think about it?
(bear in mind I have a Peavy Rage 158, a crappy 15 watt thing)

Dood, take it from me, Ive had many marshalls, from 10 watt combos to full stacks. Thee best marshall is the AVT100 combo!! In the UK they are about £300 ($500) or £200 (350) on ebay. Its powerful and there room for expansion, you can hook it up to one Cab. I used mine with a 1960 4 by 12 and it sounded unreal. The digital effects so far as reverb as spot on.. esp. if your into Slash!

I did not play that model of amp, but I have played some MG series of amps, and personally i wasn't too impressed. I prefer the full valve amps, or the valvestate hybrids to the marshall solid state myself, and if i was you, i would save up and get a decent little tsl/avt combo or something.

SLASHER, I WOULD PROBABLY HAVE TO RECOMMEND THE MARSHALL AVT SERIES. I OWN THE AVT50 HEAD MYSELF. AND BELIEVE ME, IT ROCKS. I THINK THE AVT SERIES IS JUST A LITTLE BIT MORE EXPENSIVE BUT NOT TO MUCH MORE. BUT FOR PRICE, IT SOUNDS JUST LIKE ONE OF THE MARSHALL ALL-TUBE TYPE AMPLIFIERS, AND IT WILL ROCK YOUR WORLD.

I personally would recommend steering away from marshall and opting for a roland cube 30, they have the same digital FX, 7 amp models, twin channel, seperate CD input, even an acoustic simulator, the sounds are very useable and it's loud enough to make your balls rattle!

How much would a roland set me back?
