Hello from the UK

Just wanted to introduce myself to the forum, I did spend some time on here before and completed Finger picking with Lisa but always thought I should have started on the fundamentals , so here I am again working my way through fundamentals one, its strange that I can find the right strings when finger picking but struggling with the pick. At the moment I am practicing Lisa McCormicks song Keep that faith, my trouble is playing all the way through without a mistake, my question is how fluent do you need to get it before going on to the next song, I don't have a problem with the chords but if I sing it can mess me up a bit.

I think we need to balance getting the exercise right and sheer boredom. I move on and circle back as I need to fending off frustration/boredom. 

Singing and playing takes practice. Took me a long time to get it. I just kept at it until I was able to do it.
