Nice job! Things really start to cook with that riff around 1:15. Very cool riff!

Thanks, Bill. I appreciate it, man. I’m glad that riff landed for you. If you have any thoughts on the overall sound or feel, I’m open to it. I know this style isn’t everyone’s thing, so likes or dislikes won’t offend me. I’m still going to chase my own sound.
For this track, I used tritones, a flat 5, a few mode changes, a cliché descent, some rests, and a minor chord bend at the end from the 5th to the minor 6th. Even with the mistakes in the second half, I was hoping it still came across mostly clean in one take.
I also hope that lick leading into the pre-chorus was cool. I was mainly trying to stick with D minor and add the flat 5 while making my own sound and incorporating my blues and music theory lessons.
I confidently don't want to be playing covers all the time. I really want to become my own musician. Any thoughts on the approach or vibe are welcome.
Thanks for reading, and be safe.
