I just replied to your other post about being petite and having trouble with the 4-finger exercise. Just use the first three fingers, forget the pinky finger for now. All in good time. 

In my other response I recommended a particular acoustic guitar - but now I see you are learning electric! What fun!

That sounds familiar. I to had lessons at age 13 and stopped. I started Guitar Tricks six years ago at the age of 56. Six years on and still playing thanks to Guitar Tricks. I've had about a two year break from Guitar Tricks and have just jumped back in. Guitar Tricks has added a lot more features from six years ago and I'm loving it.
