My wife told me that tonight, as I was completing my improvisation lessons in the Blues. I was mixing up those subdivisions, bending and sliding the notes. I was playing in time with the band on the backing track. I stopped dead in the middle of my lick.

"You really think so?"

"Yeah. I really like it when you're playing the blues instead of Rock and Metal. I can hear you over the TV."

Most of the time, she closes the door on her way out of the bedroom. Not this time.

Awesome, Kyle! It feels great to make progress. Kinda sneaks up on you! (At least that's how I experience it.)

Thanks, gentleman!

Hopefully, she'll say the same about my metal rhythm playing soon, too. That will come in time.

I got my Amp updated today and was able to tighten and hone my sound gates for my metal presets. The update added a lot of FX to the amp and corrected a lot of issues I didn't even know existed before. I like all the new overdrive pedals I have access to now as well. It's like I have a brand new solid-state combo amp. Them Ragin' Cajun speakers I put into it are really singing now!

The different pedals also allowed me to shape my tones and clean them up. Below are all the cool FX I got now. Each one models a pedal. The Killer Z models the Boss Metal Zone, including all its unique knobs. The Screamer is based on the Ibanez TS-808. Like, I have all the bells and whistles now. I'm over the moon about it.
