Hey all, we just posted a brand new "Mini-Tutorial" on YouTube called VINTAGE DOOM. It's an original song written by Mike Olekshy, and it's inspired by Deep Purple, Uriah Heep, and Black Sabbath.

Hope you dig it!

Hey Carl,

this is great. Will the backing track less guitar be made available?

By the way, do you folks tend to prefer a WAV or an MP3?

It worked like a charm Carl. I really do appreciate this. This is the type of tune that I can be confident in being able to get in short order and just have fun with it.

YES! That's the goal! We're trying to write cooler material that's fun to play. :)

That sounds fantastic!

This tune makes me feel like a long haired hippie freak from back in the 60’s, basically my older brother. I was six years old in 1969 so I didn’t get into too much fun but he certainly did. And as I listened to this tune, it reminded me of War Pigs, which as you probably know was a protest song against war.

So I had to try writing some lyrics to this tune, and what I came up with below can actually be sung to fit the cadence of the song.

If I could sing I’d belt it out, lol, but these will be the lyrics I sing to when I play it, and claim my part of the 60’s!

“ All around me

No hope in sight

In mind I see

War and strife everywhere

Who can bring a peace

No one it seems

We all need a way

But it’s not clear

All of this hate

Brings all of us down

Everyone you see

They all know it

How can this all change

Who can play a part

Maybe it’s on me

Just not to start”

That is unbelievable, man! Very cool that the song resonated with you so much and inspired some creativity. This makes us happy!

Now we just need to go back in time and get Ozzy to sing on it.

Oz would be difficult. But, do you see any problem giving that bass and drum track to AI and having it use my lyrics?

The track belongs to you guys which is why I want to ask.

Gotta be honest, for some odd reason, I was hoping The Wizard went Space Trucking in this song tutorial. I need to make that happen. I just had a lightning bolt of inspiration. Thanks for the cool idea and cool video. I can practice it this weekend and master it before next. I really like the chromatic riffs in the tune.

Thanks for reading, and be safe.

I like your lyrics Bill!

Carl, I would like to cast my vote for having Bill use AI to put the song together. What a cool idea!

This is what I would call a compilation. It began with Vintage Doom written by Mike and as soon as I heard it I started writing some lyrics. I then asked Carl if I could get the bass and drum tracks to the song, which he shared. I then emailed Danie at GT support to see if I could use the song and he checked with Mike and Mike said it was ok, so here we are.

I gave the bass and drum tracks and my lyrics to Suno, used the "inspire" option and this is what it came up with.

Thanks to Mike and Carl and Danie from GT, especially Mike, it was his song that the was inspired from.

The song now titled "No Hope in Sight" has been uploaded into Soundslice and as Suno does not provide a tab feature, I had to transcribe the song myself, but this is what I am hearing - not saying it is perfect - but it is workable.
