Barre chords
Is that even possible? I took at quick look at the tutorials available, because my wrist is bent and so are theirs. Why are you trying to straighten your wrist?
This year the diet is definitely gonna stick!

Some have an easier time in the classical position.William is right,have to bend wrist a bit.If you're just starting barre chords they take awhile.
I agree with fasteddymac -- try starting in more of an elevated, traditional classical guitar position (with your guitar on your left leg instead of right). Over time, you can adjust it to get used to the more "bent" angle. Honestly, if you wanted to be the most ergonomic and healthy, guitars would be played much higher, so our wrists aren't bent.

Keep your wrist as straight and relaxed as possible, bring your thumb closer behind the neck (in the middle, not above) to better distribute the pressure, and adjust the height of the guitar so as not to break the angle of your arm.

I learned yesterday, that a bent wrist when making a barre chord often comes from a straightened index finger. I tested it, yeah, my wrist bends a lot when I attempt to barre in a straight line.
@everyone
Don't wanna open a new post for this because I think it's a very common question.
I'm learning my first song with barre chords and the fleshy part where my thumb connects with my hand starts hurting - it feels like the muscles are not strong enough.
However, I am experimenting with releasing all my tension in shoulder, arm, elbow and it's amazing just how little pressure I need for a good sounding barre chord! 😍
However, when I play the song - thumb hurts again. I guess too much pressure.
To all of you who remember learning to barre: Was a little pain just something to work through, like muscle exercise? Or is it like wrist pain: The moment you feel it - immediately stop playing and freakin' relax! 😅
