Don't let boredom creep in, you can always circle back around and keep doing this until those chords smooth out.

This year the diet is definitely gonna stick!

Good advice. I am starting to get bored with my lack of progress, and am going to move on to other things even though my skills are not where I think they should be. At least I will still be interacting with the guitar.

I'm no expert, just another guy trying to get the hang of things, but I think if you move on everything you have learned and practiced so far, will come along with you. Whatever skills you have will be used in your next step also and you whatever you decide that next step will be, you will be practicing your chords and changes without even knowing it because you'll be concentrating on the new material.

Good luck!
