Hi All, have played a while starting when I was a teen then putting aside for many years, picked it back again then away again several times. I'm sure some of you will know what I mean! 😁 but never really managed to get anywhere. Got back into since the lock-down days. Watched a million you tube videos all though great so much is missing. Have been studying theory and gone back to basics, trying to really understand how it all works. And hopefully some day find my voice on this instrument. Hopefully see you in the chats at some point. And thank you to any that replies to a call for help and advice!
Hello From New Zealand
I dropped guitar for almost 10 years and only got serious again during lockdown. What helped me was setting small daily goals (like just 10 minutes of scales or space waves). It adds up over time without feeling overwhelming.

Welcome, gibbstarr!
We are so glad you are here with us at Guitar Tricks!
When it comes to learning to understand ‘how it all works’ on the guitar, you have definitely come to the right place.
There are plenty of free online videos out there, but most do not even come close to the depth and thoroughness and thoughtful pacing of Guitar Tricks classes. These are real lessons and courses taught by real teachers who are dedicated to making the information as understandable and useable as possible for our students.
I hope you enjoy filling in some of the essential fundamental concepts you may have missed in your guitar journey to date, and having many “AHA Moments” and breakthroughs!
