Finally I'm getting around to learning to play guitar! Pretty late to the game at 63 years old, but it's been on my list as long as I can remember. Owned a guitar for probably 20 years, never learned how to play it and I sold it. Bought a guitar and joined Guitar Tricks one month ago, making my way through the lessons with Anders and having a great time (with the expected challenges along the way). Looking to improve my skills for my own enjoyment and satisfaction.

Hope to get to know some of y'all on here and learn from many. Glad to hear any suggestions and advice from other late-starters!

I started at 57 Bruce and 6 years on am still learning. Have patience and keep regular practice and you’ll be playing songs. Regular practice is the best advice I can offer. Guitar is not easy.

Best of luck

Welcome, Bruce! (bruce.arfsten)

We are so delighted you have joined us here at Guitar Tricks, and are making a long-held wish come true - learning to play the guitar.

It's great to hear you have been doing so well with Fundamentals.

With those Fundamentals under your belt, you will be able to grow as a guitarist without the 'problem' of having developed a bunch of bad habits to overcome. You're learning it the right way, to keep all the doors open to becoming a more advanced happy player.

I wish you all the best - have fun! - Lisa
