C Major

Really new, I just started the lessons.  When do we learn C Major?  Did I miss it?  We learned G, Em and Am then we started the lesson on full, half and quarter notes.  On the lesson with quarter notes they want us switching to C Major but we were never taught that.

Also, when we were taught Am they have us using all 6 strings, but then on the quarter note lesson the don't play they top E string. 

Just a bit confused.

I'm assuming you are working through the Fundamentals 1 course.  If you work through it in order you will find Fundamentals chapter 1 tutorial 2 introduces the simple E minor and G major chords.

Yes, I am working through them in order.  In Chapter 2, under Learning Rhythm and then Quarter Notes they want us to switch between Am and C; however, we have not been taught the C chord.  From what you said above they don't introduce the C chord until Chapter 5.  Are we not suppose to do them in order?  Do we need to jump around, and if so in what order?  -Thanks
