To pick up where Tommy B's excellent points left off, what alternative does someone have if they're truly interested in learning to play and understand music? Individual lessons with a qualified competent instructor cost at least $100/hr. I don't get it - people will pay $6 daily for a cup of coffee, but balk at shelling out 30 cents per day for essentially unlimited guitar instruction from professional musicians, not to mention a mountain of music related reference material. I suppose one could go to YouTube and haphazardly learn music theory from an armadillo banging on a ukulele 🤪
