Hello peps,
I'm new to guitars and learning to play it from YouTube. Now, I am at the stage of learning how to understand guitar pads. Does anyone have a straightforward guide about it? Also, what does the X means?
Thanks! (and please don't be mean, I'm just learning everything)

When it comes to guitar pads, I think you're referring to guitar tabs (tablature), which are super helpful for beginners. The “X” you see on tabs usually means a muted or "ghost" note. To play it, you lightly touch the string without pressing it down, then pick or strum. It's mostly for adding a rhythmic or percussive effect without producing a full note.
I struggled with this at first too, but once I learned it, my playing became more dynamic. I actually found a clear explanation on guitaroutrun that helped me understand the difference between muting a single string versus all strings at once. It's a cool trick for making your strumming patterns sound richer.
