Welcome back to the guitar! It’s great that you’re getting back into it. Since you’re finding the beginner lessons too basic, I’d suggest focusing on intermediate-level exercises to refresh your skills. Start with scales, chords, and some of your favorite songs to regain your muscle memory.
Record yourself playing to identify areas for improvement. Remember, the most important thing is to enjoy the process. Don't be afraid to make mistakes or take breaks. With consistent practice and a positive mindset, you'll be well on your way to becoming an accomplished intermediate guitarist.
Hi Michael,
All great advice from previous responders!
Even though you are “beyond the basics”, know that GT’s fundamentals courses and lessons are available to you as you dig in to more advanced stuff. You can scroll through and find exactly what you need, to help fill in any blanks in your skillset or musical understanding.
As we look to master more advanced techniques, we may come across a skill or concept that is foundational to what we are working on, but never actually got the attention it deserved.
Scales, pick-technique, music-theory….what have you.
Just to let you know that GT has it ALL, if you find there are some areas of learning you need to focus on in order to make great progress towards playing the kind(s) of music you would love to play.
Build your own custom program from our vast resources, and, HAVE FUN!
