Hi,
How does Guitar Tricks work out for Lefties? Please Lefties only - what's your experience?
Hello, i too im a lefty, 6 months into learning & playing guitar.
Back when i started out, i did a LOT of reading, research and even some tests to decide if i should get a lefty guitar, or just a standard one. In the end, i decided to get a standard one (of wich i own 4 now LOL), and im happy i did.
The best advice i can give you, is to learn using a standard right handed guitar. Playing guitar takes an equal ammount of dexterity & agility on both hands (for me at least). So there is no "disadvantage" on playing a standard guitar as a lefty.
In fact, during the first couple of months, sometimes i felt like i had a small advantage over a right handed person, because at the start your main focus is on forming chords, changing to and from them, etc. Stuff that is done with your left hand, and i was doing it with my strong hand.
Now, 6 months later, i dont feel that my journey so far would have been easier if i had chosen a left handed guitar. I actually think it would have been a little harder.
Bottom line, you are gonna need to teach both your hands how to do a bunch of new and weird stuff they are not used to. And as long as you practise consistently, you will get there. Regardless of us being left or right handed.
Hope this helps

I am a right handed person who writes left handed and I play left handed guitar, I tried right handed but found playing left handed came much easier than trying to force myself to play right.
As far as Guitar Tricks goes I have not found it to be difficult following the lessons. I find it helpful because you are looking at a mirror image in the video so it appears that the instructor's guitar is in the same orientation as yours.
