I'm interested in fusion (Caseopia, T-Square, Owane, Matthieu Fiset, etc). I know I want to get into the Jazz style, but I'm definitely more interested in rock than blues. Should I just bite the bullet and do blues anyway since it has more in common with Jazz?
Which style should I choose as a beginner?

Your choice should be based on your current skill level. The artists you listed are pretty high level jazz-rock fusion material.
If you are an absolute beginner, never played guitar or music, then you should work through one of the Fundamentals courses. There are 3 instructors to choose from with slightly different approaches.
If you are a re-beginner, played some in the past but are starting over, then Fundamentals 2 is probably a good review, but then you can probably handle one of the style courses. I'd recommend rock, because the style of fusion you mentioned is more rooted in rock than blues or pure jazz. And most of the jazz material we have is more traditional in style.
Hope that helps!

It certainly did. Thanks!
You should determine exactly what genre you want to pursue. You should not be confused between too many genres. Head Soccer
