hey guitar tricks.

i am almost at the end of fundamentals 2 . an i absolutely love what lisa teaches about the scales an how we can play a (Am,Em,Dm scales open or up the neck with many major scales.

i personally have been googling certain key tracks for example (C major backing track) an then fingering the minor an the major scale over it. which sounds pretty awesome an feels like im jamming. making up random stuff that will lead to cool sounding melodies

my question is. id love to learn more scales so i can connect the whole neck together in any key.

id love your advice on where i should go to next.

thankyou

This tutorial covers how to play the diatonic major scale in it's 3 basic possible configurations.  It also shows that the patterns are moveable so you can use it to play any & all of the 12 possible major scales (starting on each musical alphabet note).

Major Scale Patterns 1

https://www.guitartricks.com/tutorial/453

This one covers diatonic minor in the same manner.

Minor Scale Patterns 1

https://www.guitartricks.com/tutorial/887

Then you can do the next level of each one that shows how to play the scales in repeating octaves to cover the fretboard!

Major Scale Patterns 2

https://www.guitartricks.com/tutorial/2643/

This one covers diatonic minor in the same manner.

Minor Scale Patterns 2

These tutorials cover pentatonic major & minor in the same way, all the interconnected patterns covering the fretboard.

Pentatonic Major Exercises

Pentatonic Minor Exercises

Hope that helps!  Have fun practicing scales!
