Hello everyone,

New to GT, new to forums, so bear with me.

A complete beginner, have just started my second course with Anders.

Have to say it was going well, now I'm sort of stuck. 😬

I would love to play like the Knopflers and Mays of the world, but the way it's going I think it's gonna take a while.

Anyway, just wanted to say hi and thanks for a great site. I have hope.

Dave.

Hi Dave,

its great to have ambitions, and studying some of these players and learning to play their licks will help in your overall playing.

Good luck!

Bill

This year the diet is definitely gonna stick!

Hi Dafka1,

Congrats on your progress so far!

It is totally normal for the learning process to flow along nicely at times, and at other times feel stalled out. Progress is not ever a steady straight upwards line.

Since you are wanting to learn to play great solos, once you get through Fundamentals, you'll want to pay particular attention to lessons on the use of the Pentatonic Scale. That is the "secret weapon" that many great soloists start with.

Have fun!

Thanks Bill,

Sometimes think I should have studied Bass guitar, less strings 😆

I am hoping that by the summer I can play a couple of songs that people can reckonize.

It's all new to me so I guess I have to go through the beginning and all the frustrations.

Dave

Thanks Lisa,

I am not one to give up and I will stick with it now I have started.

Have also been listening to your intuition course, my my, what a lot to learn.

Been trying the Pentatonic scale, that is also a lot to take in as a beginner.

The good news is, my fingers are starting to hurt less.

Dave
