Hi Everyone,
I have an early 1970s Ampeg GU-12 that came to me with a Scumback M75-PVC, which seems to be a greenback tone type of speaker.
Does anyone know what the original stock speaker was in the GU-12?
I'm trying to get a little more breakup earlier in the volume range. I have tried to attenuate the amp as well, but wondering if changing the speaker might help get more of the mid-range tones. I also have a VT-22 and really like the sound of the original Altecs.
Any recommendations would be helpful for speaker suggestions and attenuators for this specific amp.
