It is from a guitar tab on songster for Cigarette Daydreams. It was confusing for me because it did not look at all like Bm from the tab, lol

It doesn't look like the standard, typical voicing of a B minor chord barre chord. But it is simply a B minor chord because of the notes. The only notes used are the notes that form a B minor chord.

But I've heard that song & I'm pretty sure they just use a standard B minor barre chord.

Chris is right. If you look up the song on Ultimate Guitar Pro it uses the standard B minor barre chord (which is mush easier to play), not the voicing shown in the original post.

As a guitar novice, is anyone able to explain why they notated it the way that they did? Since it is supposed to be a B minor barre chord, why did they not have it listed as such? Sorry for the noob question, lol

I don't for certain, but my best guess is simple incompetence. Anyone with an account can create tabs on Songster without editorial oversight.
