okay ive been playing for about a year and im looking for a new guitar. right now i have a squier affinity strat. i was looking at the fender tom delonge but now that someone pointed out that theres only one pickup which means only one tone im kinda turned off by it. any suggestions for a strat that would fit me.

A Kramer and a Squier is not even a comparison.

Altough I loved my old Squier, the Kramer is a much better guitar.

Check out harmony central for some reviews of guitars in your price range.

If your affinity Strat is as good as a Kramer, you've got a one-of-a-kind museum piece! And a 'Made in USA' sticker doesn't mean a thing to your ears!

PonyOne generally knows what he's about; he happens to have Kramer in his collection; and he's been playing for a whole lot longer than you have. I'm pretty sure he's the one who pointed out the shortcomings of the Tom DeLonge special. So take his advice, check out a Kramer, and then see if it's the same as your affinity Strat.

You should look into the Jap-Strats while you're at it. I had a '62 Re-Issue that made a lot of people regret laying out so much coin for an Am-Strat.

Bottom line - open your ears and your mind, ignore labels, and judge the guitar that's in your hands. The axe you hear on your favourite track is not the one you see on stage.

dude i agree... kramers are great to play and for a better alue too...i personally prefer Schecter and Gibson, but thats only from the $800-$1200 range...so ur best bet would be to take it from Pantallica, Lord, and PonyOne and get a Kramer Baretta...

well it might help to know a price but if ur a gibson fan try an epiphone les paul or G-400. and if ur looking, im guessing for a punk guitar it shudnt really matter just try lots of guitars and see which one suits u best

Most guitars can handle any style. Just because you buy a guitar that many blues players use doesn't mean it can't rip out some heavy riffs.

Go to a store and try some out, don't pay attention to labels, just grab a few in your price range and play 'em. You might be suprised.

But for the money you're going to spend, Kramer's are worth every cent of their price, and probably more.

Why mexican? What's wrong with a Mexican Strat? Like Lord pointed out, Made in America doesn't mean "Awesome Guitar", not by a long-shot. I was absolutely shocked at the way you disregarded Tele Master and PonyOne's advice.....Man, these are two guys that know what they are talking about, and helped me alot when I didn't! I think the first thing you need to do is open your ears for advice!

My advice? Wait until YOU know what you want in a guitar before buying, so you don't have to rely on our advice!

Too true. A Purolator truck trashed my big ol' 1984 Fleetwood, and I'm looking for another one. :)

Up here in Canada, they operate a courier service as an excuse to send forth maniacal agents of mayhem disguised as truck drivers.
