I just got my guitar today and I was using my Carvin distortion with it and it sounded like crap. I tried every setting on my guitar, the pedal, and my amp. I couldn't get a good sound out of it. What are some good, but inexpensive distortion pedals that would work with my guitar. I play mostly hard rock and metal.

If I could afford a new amp I would get one. Yea, the pedal worked pretty good before, but it was with an acoustic-electric guitar. I don't know if that makes any difference or not. I'll try the Metal Zone.

Trendkillah, I think you said you have a Carvin 7-string. What kind of distortion do you use? I also heard the MXR double shot distortion is really good also.

Alright, I was checking out the V-amp on musicians friend to get an idea. They have the V-amp 2 and the V-amp Pro Modeling Preamp. Which one should I get trend? Price doesn't matter because they are both in the 100-200 dollar range.

That is a good price, but I don't have that much money. I guess I'll have to go with just the V-amp.
