I would assume that you can do it just the same, just at louder volumes.

An example of this is with the Deluxe Reverb / Twin Reverb.

With the deluxe, you can overdrive it at a lower volume than overdriving a twin (considering you didn't hit the 25W switch).

It's a guess, but it sounds right to me.
