How can I make my electric sound like an acoustic?
Is there some sort of circuit that can make an electric guitar sound like an acoustic?

Fishman makes a chip that makes a realistic sound. www.route101guitars.com sells them with their guitars as an option

The zoom and boss pedals cost about $80-90
Am I better off just getting a cheap acoustic?

Any guitar that costs as much as an effects pedal is bound to be a piece of crap. If you're in a hurry, get the Boss pedal. It's versatile. If you can wait and save up, get a decent acoustic. I just bought an Ibanez classical for about $300 that sounds fantastic and plays great - which is rare for that price. Or if you want a steel string, get an Ovation or a Takamine.

Yeah like everyone else is saying. You can buy a effect pedal that accuratly gives you the sound of a acoustic guitar. That's your best bet.
