G3 Steve Vai, tapping

OK at the end of answers just befoer "love of god" Steve vai does some crazy tapping that sounds like flowing water!! can anyone give my so help? i would like to learn how to tapp like that!!any excersies i can do??

It's mostly pedal tone type of tapping .


1)He descend the scale like this :

g-16-13-16-14-16-13-16-11-16-14-9-16-11-7-16-9-etc..|

2)Ascending the scale :

g-16-2-16-4-16-2-16-6-16-4-16-7-16-etc.|

3)The fast octave part :

g-16-14-16-2-16-14-16-2-|

4)Then he does something like this (no tapping here):

D-----4-2--------------2-4-------|
A----------4-3-2-3-4-------------|


5)Ascend the scale like (2)


6)Then play around with these patterns:

All 16's here are tapped , and rest of the notes are legatos (hammers/pulloffs/slides).

What scale is that?

It's "A" Lydian mode , Emaj Key.
