hey, i found out about this site here at guitartricks, but it has since been buried in the archives.

it's a site called http://www.guitarnuts.com, and it provides a very informative and detailed look at the guts of your guitar and what makes it tick.

the site is devoted to helping you make modifications to your guitar (i think it focuses more on Strats or Strat copies) and there is a very good section on shielding the body cavity of your guitar. it says that this will reduce the hum of your guitar and some people may even think you put in humbuckers. the best part is that it doesn't affect the appearance of your axe.

Check it out.

... and that's all I have to say about that.

yeah the site is cool. It was also posted in the topic of Atomic Mass Unit's 7 sound strat. That site makes me wanna open up my strat and ruin it :)

yeah, check out the "Strat Lover's Strat" section also. It is similar to Atomic's seven sound strat deal, but the way posted here doesn't affect the appearance of your guitar, and it has an extra option to change the way your pickups are wired so you can switch from series to parallel, which apparently adds to your sound.

i'm glad you guys enjoyed the site, i thought it was way cool, too, and i'm pretty sure i'll shield my strat on my vacation next week.

now, if only someone would lend me their soldering iron...
