cleaning guitar neck, help

Hi, i was just wondering if there are any good household items that can be used to clean the neck of a guitar, anything that works would be helpfull, even water if that is recomended. Thanks.

Why would you want to do that. It adds character and adds to the whole tone of the instrument... :)

So. If you throw a cat out of a car window, is it considered "kitty litter"?

Water is the devil. Use a dry soft cloth. If you must use some spit...for real but not to much. I hear napthane...or something like that Aka lighter fluid is a good cleaner but havent tried it my self. You could also get cleaners from music shops that are bonifide.

I don't know if I would put lighter fluid on the board to clean it. You might ignite it when you are really shredding LOL :)

Paper towels if its just dust or a trooth brush (an old one that no one uses anymore preferably).
