Yeah, the one thing about hybrid picking that I try to stress is the manner in which attacking the top string with your middle finger and pulling it slightly down the string toward the bridge acts as a lever to pull the pick over the top of the string such that after the note is played your pick is ready and in position to sweep back...you avoid any sense of a "glitch" or stutter in the flow of the notes....in other words, in playings, say, two triads back to back, the sound of triplets; instead of hearing /// ///
(two separate units) you hear ////// (smooth and continuous) -- the hybrid picking helps a lot in that regard.
