I want to get into home recording on my computer and am looking for a decent recording software. I don't need anything fancy, just something that will record for more than 1 minute and is able to over-dub. I would prefer something I could get off the internet and is compatible with windows 98. Any help is very much appreciated.

I have a pentium 4 and I am using Cool Edit Pro2 at the moment. I am going to upgrade to Magix7 within the next few weeks. Do I need Windows XP for that?
