The shred gbuitarist that comes closest to being able to be able to play both complex rythms and fast leads is Steve Vai. Mike Kineally (Being number 1) now that I think of it as well. (I'm sure there are others).
I started learning guitar because of Randy Rhoads..but Yngwie J. Malmsteen is my biggest influence.
