Just wondering what guys think.

Im not to the point to proform yet but this is what i think

Talent(Obvious)

Showmenship-being able to put on a good live show, bring your fans into what your doing.

Original work-Cover bands are great but your not going to get famous covering songs from the 60's. original good music that people can feel not based on there musical knowlage just able to enjoy the music for what it is.

Any one have differnt opinions or stuff to add on?

I don't know about that cover band stuff; didn't Van Halen have like 100 cover songs in their repertoire before they hit it big? And they kept on doing them throughout their career, too...
... and that's all I have to say about that.

ALL generalizations are WRONG

David Lee Roths' philosophy was that if you cover a hit your halfway there of having a hit yourself.

A Swedish/Norwegian writing and production team
An annual marketing budget of $2m-5m
A hugely inflated ego
No sense of shame

You must have friends in the right places and/or be a really persistent, hard worker. You must be able to follow the current music trend to be commercially acceptable. Mix in some luck and groveling... you've got a record deal.
"You must stab him in the heart with the Bone Saber of Zumacalis... well, you could stab him in the head or the lungs, too... and the saber, it probably doesn't have to be bone, just anything sharp lying around the house... you could poke him with a pillow and kill him."
