Cat_eyes_gb, I hear you on the guitar smashing thing....I have decent guitars and it still pisses me off to see people smash them up. Although its been done for decades I think maybe we could blame Cobain for starting off a trend in guitar-abuse....it kinda got more into the mainstream with bands like nirvana. Oh, and I'm an Yngwie/shred fan too :cool:

I also hated Cobain for smashing guitars until I read that he did not smashed his Fender Jazzmaster or Strat.... he smashed some cheap crappy Japanease guitars. At least this is what I read at guitargeek.com -- various japanease guitars reserved for destruction after the set

actually its funny you mention that; asa much as i hate avril lavigne i have to say she inspired my cousin zoe who not only has perfect pitch but is grade 7 theaory and grade 7 violin. Shes interested in playing metallica and some more poppy stuff but im driving her towards shredding with all my force and slowly its working MWHAHAH
