Hey !..

About 3 months ago i bought myself a Jimi Hendrix signature Wah-Wah (Dunlop, JH-1).
Being told that it didnt just look different from the basic cry-baby, but also sounded different, i was disappointed when i came home and felt there was no difference in the sound between the two pedals. The only differrence was the PRICE !!.. Well now i have played with it for 3 months and learned that for example lowering the distortion increases the effect of the wah-wah, but i still feel i cant get the sound i want.. so if anyone got any ideas what i could do then please mail me or reply here.

Thanks // Jacob

What kind of sound do you want to get out of it?

I have an old (mid-70's) JH-1.

I like the sound, but I've never thought that it was capable of doing something 'different'. If there's a special sound lurking within, I'd really like to know how to bring it out!

Well.. it´s called a jimi wah .. so i would like to get Jimis wah sounds out of it.. I dont now how to explain it. Lets say when the "curve" of the Wah:s effect gets big, that will say a big difference in sound between top and bottom, often either the high or the low notes becomes muted (almost). In many of jimis songs the don´t and the effect becomes really cool. Atleast i think thats my problem, so how should i solve it. Someone told that the jimisound can be made by hooking up a fuzz and a wah together, and yes this sounds really cool but it still aint THE sound. Take for example the intro of voodoochild live on woodstock, thats the sound im looking for.

Sounds vary from guitars and amps and stuff, enev if you've got the same pedals. You may have to play around with your pedal a little while longer to find the sound you want. Thats about all I can think of.
