Blues on the guitar is quite nice, but after listening to a lot of it, it all starts to sound the same to me. To get out of any ruts, I listen to the blues played on the piano. I always find inspiration (and some licks that are easy on piano, but really freakin hard on the guitar).

For example, try listening to some Oscar Peterson...
"You must stab him in the heart with the Bone Saber of Zumacalis... well, you could stab him in the head or the lungs, too... and the saber, it probably doesn't have to be bone, just anything sharp lying around the house... you could poke him with a pillow and kill him."
