Ditto - I found that if you don't close the window (just leave it behind the browser), it won't keep opening.

yeah, but they don't stop it seems, they keep coming everytime i click to a new page, especially on the forum

I'm not a fan of them either, but think of it this way: Jon has undoubtedly spent a great many hours of his personal time creating guitartricks.com, and a hefty sum of money (cost of domain, cost of bulletinboard, cost of those monthly prizes he gave away). This site doesn't generate him any significant income (although if he wanted to, he could place a fee for all the tricks and use of the board), the only money he gets is through the advertising banners when someone clicks on them and the pop-up window. So if he wants to use the pop-up banner, I say far be it from us to criticize them.

I make it a rule to never visit sites that use popup ads so I hope this one drops em real quick or I'm outa here.

If you click it off the screen you just get another one in it's place.

Jon, I was getting a console every time I opened an unread message. The console said "Click here to win a Billion Dollars". It's strange, but I haven't seen any today.

well, that is really weird. I have been getting those popups all over the net recently, but not here at guitar tricks.

yeah, 'tis true. i'd be off the forum in other places and they'd popup also, odd i guess. Haven't seen em yet by the way.

It loads ok now...no popups.
Seems quicker too... normally I go sit down & watch tv while I wait for each page to load but right now I can forest gump all over the place without any delays.

you know, that other ad company said they had technology that would send certain ads to different people based on their profile. I didn't believe it, but we just saw it happen. I guess I was not worthy of a good popup.

besides, they should have let me know they were gonna do popups all over the place.
