I always preferred the Les Paul standards. The studios play and sound nice but they probably don't hold their value like the other models, so if your gonna spend that type of cash you might as well get something you can turnaround and sell or trade in in a couple of yrs for the smae amount you paid for it or even more.
I never liked the customs. Their the only 3 models I ever played; standard, studio, & custom. My vote: Standard
