It would be interesting to hear what peoples perspective of the musicians life really is. I think there's a lot of fantasy and myth behind it, the reality of it is quite different.

Everyone is a musician, because from the way I looked at it even if you're just clapping your hands your making music.

im 18 and ive been gigging full time fer 3 years and i love it. ive seen some well cool things, done the whole trash backstage and had my fair share of band fights. i love gigging in any form [doing classical or with a band etc]it stops me getting a job and gives me something to do befoer going to uni. and i couldnt give a flying one about "making it" or being famous.ive layed with sighned bands [209 were the most arrogant people ive met]

although the band ive just left has started getting well known and all the bands i used to hang out with all lost contact with so thats quite a bad part of it but i got a new band now. i think rock n roll bands are good for fun but id rather branch out into all styles without getting famous.

hope i didnt just bore you all of sound too arrogant

I've been semi-pro for a while now and have also been a gig organiser while at college and in my time have booked, supported and auditioned for some quite well-known rock bands, usually either on the rise or on the slide. Some were decent down to earth folk but many others were arrogant, egomaniacal ****s who take all the fun out of music. One of the worst was Mick Hucknall, whom I had the misfortune to come across in his pre-Simply Red days. I've also read that James Brown and Frank Zappa tended to treat their musicians like employees, fining them for bum notes etc. These days I mainly in play folk-blues, celtic and bluegrass bnads which is a lot more fun. The people here just get off on playing the music and are not bothered about being stars.

ive played in unsinged bands that have ego problems too.i used to be in a band where the singer took all the solos and bits i played out the songs essencially ruining his own songs making aour band look **** to prove his point [we were HIS backing band] i left.

it just rock n roll and music its not like its essencial to make it because even if you get signed chances ae noone gonna buy yer album as the label wont advertise a small band.

ahhhhhhh i feel better
