I've seen it in tabs. "here angus does an adlib solo in the end" and such. I'm talking about Hell's Bells by the way, but I still don't know what adlib means?

Exactly - Its an abreviation (btw.. why is abbreviation such a long word???) for Ad Libitum (lat. Libitum est - It Pleases) - Means to play as you like in terms of Tempo, expression, variation and instrumentation - Improvised
