i have a peice of junk guitar my g/f gave me and im using the body to make a guitar out of. the body is made out of fiberboard and the neck is also made of this. i was wondering if it would be worth the effort to have the neck refretted or just get a new neck. replies would be greatly appreciated... thanx

I feel bad about welcoming a new member to our Forums with a negative response, but if "fiberboard" means what I think it does, your first sentence says all you need to know.

You could install the best pickups the world has to offer, mount the finest hardware available, and fit the best strings that money can buy, but it won't sound any good if the materials in the neck and body are crap.

I'm sorry.
