The title should be self explanatory?  According to this article this is now the fourth highest priced guitaar to sell in a public sales.  At auction, etc.

Apparently, Eddie gave it to his drum tech who gave it to his nephew who sold it to a guitar store.  I will bet the nephew got no where near $3.9 million!🤪

Wow. Looks like one of the 80s Kramers of which he built & used dozens.  On the auction site you can zoom in on the images.

On the shot of the back of the guitar body you can see a series of holes at an angle.  That's where he had a little plexiglass table or shelf screwed in on a hinge to flip the guitar up to tap with both hands like a piano.   He only used that on the 1984 tour, which I was fortunate enough to see.

Also, FWIW that's the guitar used in the Hot For Teacher music video.  EVH used a 50s Gibson Flying V to record the original song.  I'm guessing his son still has the V at 5150.

Wow never knew about that. I remember when I first saw that video I was so blown away with his playing it never dawned on me at the time how he kept the guitar up like that. Such a genius in so many ways.
