How to read lyrics notation

Is there a lesson on how to read lyrics notation?

This example is from Proud Mary.  What do the single and double vertical lines mean, for example.

Solo Section:

||[C] [A]   |[C] [A]   |[C] [A][G][F]|

|    [D]||:       |       :|| x5

|[A]   |      |[Bm]   |      ||:[D]   |     :||

Double vertical line means the beginning or end of a section of the song.

Single vertical line means the end of a measure of music & the beginning of the next measure (or count of 4 beats in this case because the song is in 4/4 time).

Double vertical lines with 2 dots ( ||:  [chords] :|| ) indicates to repeat the material in between the dots, essentially a repeat sign as in standard musical notation.

Single vertical line (|)

Double vertical line (||)

 A double vertical line is typically used to indicate the end of a complete section or verse of the song. In some cases, it may also indicate the end of a chorus or bridge.

Repeat signs

Double vertical lines can also be used in combination with other symbols to indicate repeated sections of the song. For example, a section of the song may be marked with a double vertical line and a repeat sign (":||"), indicating that the section should be played twice before moving on to the next section.

Time signature changes 

Double vertical lines can also be used to indicate changes in the time signature of the song. In this case, the double vertical lines will be accompanied by a new time signature.
